So I’m sitting having breakfast with myself and the time now is 6:30am here in Little Rock, Arkansas. This morning TV’s appearance for Dawn Robinson from En Vogue and Gary Jenkins from Silk was rescheduled to 12:30pm. Once I’m up, I’m up and cannot go back to sleep, so I’m spending my morning with you:).
Yesterday evening was amazing. I had dinner with the lovely Dawn Robinson, Ines (Assistant to the Producer among other things) and Carl (the best friend of the writer among other things). We choose Indian food, which I love and Dawn schooled me on some dishes I hadn’t tried before. We had great conversation, well I’m being modest, it was full of Tea. I then head back to my room to prepare for a “6:30am” TV appearance.
I also get a call from my mom while trying to get ready that my oldest son missed the bus smh. Thank goodness for Uber…..yes I know, but let’s not discuss it lol.
So we have a 8pm show this evening at the Robinson Performance Hall. This is the tour’s 10th day on the road and I am counting down the days until I can see my family again, which will be September 20th in Philadelphia. It’s not easy, but it’s what I love doing, unfortunately it’s a sacrifice that has to be made in order for my career to advance.
But I did want to give you all an update on my hotel experience thus far. Our first hotel was in Atlanta, GA at The Westin Atlanta Perimeter North. the staff was nice, but more importantly the amenities provided was definitely worth what they charge per night ($200). I don’t get the luxury of using much of the hotel facilities, but it’s nice to know it’s there just in case.
Our second hotel was at the Marriot for 1 night in Columbus, SC. The Marriot is pretty standard but we were only there for one night and then we head back to our luxury hotel in Atlanta;). We also stayed at the Sheraton Gunter hotel in San Antionio, TX. I didn’t have the best experience there. My room card key never worked, among other things. But the most embarrassing thing happened to me at that damn hotel. I was getting dressed and in walked the bell man with couple waiting to occupy my room. WTF! They front desk explained that due to the time we came in , which was one day late they freed our rooms smh. Either way the hotel was very unapologetic about it and even offered me a free dinner and then took it back. I will be writing a letter. Whatever you do in San Antonio, TX, don’t stay there. YOU’VE BEEN WARNED.\
Oh and one last gift…..Janet Jackson attended our show in San Antonio, TX. She looked great. I don’t think I’ll ever that close to her again lol.
Well folks have a great day!
